#bestaussieselfie has achieved excellent traction so far and we’ve have received some really great entries.

The summer promotion ends on Australia Day so get some further interaction with your customers, let them know the promo is coming to an end and get them involved by entering their best Aussie inspired selfie by their pool, who knows, they might win… then you can win as well.

We’ve had two winners already for November and December – Daisy has given away two Apple iWatches and two prizes of $500 to be spent by our winners in their Daisy Expert’s store. Yes, Daisy credits the store $500 so the winner can spend the money in any way they like.

Last call before Christmas

Orders for pre-Christmas deliveries right up to 17th December

It’s been a cracking start to the season and by now we are already looking towards Christmas for a small reprieve (phew). It’s only our guess that few industries around Australia have been as busy as the pool industry!

You’ll be pleased to hear that Daisy does not close down over the Christmas period; except for the public holidays. We will be receiving, processing and dispatching all orders as they are received.

To ensure you receive your deliveries before the jolly man slides down the chimney, last expected pre-Christmas deliveries will need to be dispatched by 18th December so orders will need to be processed by 17th at the latest.

Ho! Ho! Ho! As the hard working Daisy elves will be dispatching all the way up to and over the Christmas period, most orders dispatched from 21st and 22nd may well be delivered before the big day.

However just so you know, even though delivery times may blow out while the transport companies recover from their Christmas pudding, Daisy will still work to our usual turnaround time of a day or two to custom make and dispatch your orders.

#bestaussieselfie has begun

Time to get involved!

As Australia’s favourite pool cover, we want you to have a bit of fun and sell more over the upcoming season! To help, we’re all set for another summer promo #bestaussieselfie!

Supporting this is a full-on digital marketing and social media campaign and of course, your point of sale tools. Have you got the A5 tent cards we sent displayed in your store? The pocket cards are also for you to keep in your pocket or in-store to help you start the conversation with your customers, and even your friends and family.

Feel free to give them away to encourage them to participate. There’s a very cool Apple Watch to be won each month! Spread the news!

That’s right! If one of your customers wins they get an Apple Watch and $500 of pool stuff to spend in store with you. Daisy will pay you $500 for your customer to use in store in any way they want… pool servicing, products and more; as long as you sell it they can buy it.

Get everyone involved by taking Aussie inspired selfies around the pool, sharing them on the Daisy Facebook page and Instagram. Feel free to post about the campaign on your own Facebook page, share and encourage people to enter. Plus, it gives you a fun point of interest to talk about in store.

Don’t forget to remind them to hashtag #bestaussieselfie to be in the running for these awesome prizes.

Ramping up production earlier this year to meet high demand

With so many of the states and regions around Australia enjoying beautiful spring (well more like summer) weather, and the threatened El Nino expected to bring higher than average temperatures and lower than average rainfall throughout much of the eastern seaboard this year; the start of the summer season has been a busy time for Daisy.

Daisy has seen solid demand through most parts of Australia with an overall positive and enthusiastic outlook for not only the summer season but for the whole economy as well.

With such a positive outlook for this summer, along with the popular launch of our latest UltraDome+, Daisy is in full summer production a bit earlier this year to meet the increased demand. Don’t forget we’re here to help you capitalise on sales in as many ways as we can from innovative new products, awesome promotions, to quality service!

To give you the very best of service we will do our utmost to custom-make your pool cover and dispatch your order within a day or two from order.

Customers having experienced our exceptionally speedy same day service during the quieter months may notice a slight change back to standard delivery times during the busy season. Regardless, you will still be blown away with our quality service and attentiveness.

Tracking and delivery

At this time of year, freight companies are approaching their peak period as well. This means they have a higher workload so we also work together and keep an eye on turnaround and performance.

Daisy invoices your order on the day it leaves the factory, either in Sydney or Perth. Pro-forma invoices are emailed when the order is input into the system; actual invoices are emailed straight after dispatch. If you notice a prolonged delivery timeframe from invoice date, just let us know so we can follow up on the delivery for you.

The best way to track your delivery is:

  • call the admin centre on 1300 55 18 11 with your invoice number (or order number)
  • or email the details directly to [email protected]

Remember how we did last summer? The #bestsplashchallenge did well. We built an engaged audience around fun in the backyard pool, encouraging and doing what we all do… jump in and make a splash! You were involved and your support was excellent; many happy with us promoting their shop to their customers through a non-standard promotional medium.

The number of entrants over the three-month campaign exceeded our expectations, the exposure of the challenge to consumers was also beyond our expectations, and the interaction with our consumers was absolutely fantastic.

A rockstar effort from our Best Splash Grand Prize Winner!

With BEST SPLASH entries received from all around Australia over the summer months, the competition was fierce on Facebook and Instagram.

Our December BEST SPLASH Winner Rebecca McLevie of WA also took home the Grand Prize, which was $2,000 worth of pool maintenance and supplies from her closest Daisy Expert Southside Pool Service.

Rebecca’s winning BEST SPLASH video now has more than 2100 views, over 50 shares and nearly 130 likes including from the band Sheppard whose song Geronimo was used in the creatively choreographed video.

Last week Rebecca was presented with her prize by our Daisy Managing Director Derek Prince and Jarred Parry from Southside Pool Services in Cannington, WA. Rebecca who was accompanied by her brother and cousin said her prize was going to her Grandad as it was his pool they used on Christmas Day to shoot the video: “We use Grandad’s pool all the time, we even have pool parties there where there can be over 30 of us and Grandad will cook for us on the BBQ,” she said.

“I was so happy winning the GoPro last time and even took it to our Bali holiday immediately. The grand prize is awesome and I want it to go to Grandad to help him. One of the first things he will probably get is a pool cover and roller because he has been talking about it for a while now so we might just order it for him.”

Jarred from Southside Pool Services said, “It still leaves him with plenty of the prize to look after his pool and we would be delighted to help Rebecca’s Grandad spend the rest of the prize money on the various maintenance and supplies that we have in store.”

When collecting her prize Rebecca said in the lead up to the end of the Challenge they were all watching the other entrants of the competition. “There were some real good ones there… we were getting a bit worried as the January winner was getting a lot of likes. Mum said the reach of the video got so much that she was getting friend requests through Facebook from people she knew in the UK,” she added.

Creative campaign helps build retailer confidence

Pool industry’s creative campaign made a splash helping build retailer confidence against current trends

In the pool leisure industry, businesses are not selling products like chlorine, pumps or pool covers… they are selling lifestyle, fun and enjoyment in their customers’ back yard. When over two thirds of Australians make their buying decisions using the internet, businesses like Daisy need to more than ever be able to influence buying decisions online, as well as offline. This requires an integrated strategy using all media as well as a relevant campaign to engage the target audience.

According to Daisy Pool Covers and Rollers Managing Director Derek Prince, Daisy’s 2014/15 summer campaign #bestsplashchallenge, which officially closed at the end of January with the Grand Prize winner announced this week, tackled this head on.

“The #bestsplashchallenge utilised a pull and push strategy and engaged end customers as well as our retail channel. We built an online audience around fun in the backyard pool by encouraging people to do what we all do… jump in and make a splash! Our customers were reached through the social media Challenge to create the best splash ever and win by getting the most likes on Facebook or Instagram,” Derek said.

Daisy also supported retailers through in-store point of sale material and driving sales to their store through social media. Many retailers got involved promoting the Challenge as well as having a bit of fun.

Southside Pool Services, based in Cannington WA, was the Daisy retailer from which the January and Grand Prize winner Rebecca McLevie collected her prize so Owner Peter Schmidt said he was grateful for the opportunity for the extra promotional exposure and potentially a new customer for his store.

“We were delighted at the chance to be involved with this creative promotional campaign over the last few months, it has really helped build great awareness of our store,” said Peter.

“The combination of social media with the relevant campaign idea was spot-on given their target market is young families around Australia,” he said.

“The number of entrants over the three months exceeded our expectations, the exposure of the challenge to consumers was also beyond our expectations, and the interaction with our consumers was absolutely fantastic,” said Derek.

Announcing our January Best Splash Winner!

We had more than 30 BEST SPLASH entries in January on Facebook and Instagram.

Congratulations goes to Alex Dorrity of NSW for his original BEST SPLASH photo taken with friends at sunset near his home at Kingsley Beach. It was an amazing shot that gained over 106 likes on Facebook.

Alex was overseas when he heard the good news. However, one of the first things he did when he returned was visit his nearest Daisy Expert Poolside Davidson Pool & Spa Services at Salamander Bay. There he was presented with his new GoPro Hero Black Edition camera by Shop Owner Adam Parker.

Our winner Alex, who is currently in his second year of Uni studying to be a Pre School Teacher, was very pleased to win the Go Pro and said it was on his wish list! He said he found the competition on the internet by doing a Google on ‘Win a Camera’. Lucky him!

Alex said, “I dreamed of winning the Go Pro so I was so excited to hear that I’d won when I was on holiday in the US. I’d like to use my new Go Pro to do another ‘SPLASH’ for the Daisy Facebook Page.”

From our Expert, Adam said he definitely saw future potential to use the promotion in his business and looking back, he said he could have used it to a bigger advantage in November 2014 when he had his Shop Open Day. He’s delighted to be a part of this win/ win idea!

Well done to Glenn Smith of NSW for his creative BEST SPLASH video and his local Daisy Expert Cronulla Pool Perfection.

 

Young dad and new pool owner, Glenn Smith, was the lucky winner of the November prize, a latest GoPro Hero4 Black Edition camera, for his excellent slow motion video! Check it out.

Glenn won the 1st prize not only for his creativity but also by having the most number of likes!He loves his new pool, his back yard parties and now, his new GoPro camera.

“It’s a great promotion, thanks Daisy. I was on the Daisy website looking for a pool cover and saw the promo,” shares Glenn.

What inspired you to enter? We had a bit of a pool party so thought I would set up my camera and have some fun with it.
