Home Of The Original Daisy Pool Cover
If stored for long periods flush cover top and bottom of cover with fresh water to get all the chlorinated water off the cover. This will prolong the life of your covers.
Simply roll up onto the roller system and move to your storage area so it is easy to replace onto the pool at end of day.
It is not needed for thermal foam cover however you can purchase an over cover to protect the cover during long term storage. Solar covers come standard with an attached overcover to protect the pool cover from the sun when stored on the roller. This over cover can be supplied separate instead of being attached if requested.
Rolling covers over the top of the roller makes it easier to operate, easier to deploy and recover. This also helps stop a cover curl on the roller end.
It should be noted that lane ropes should be removed when using pool covers, however owners/operators are sometimes reluctant to remove them as it may makes the job onerous, they should at least have their tension released to avoid damage to the covers when dragged on & off over the lane ropes.
Yes, we can make a piggy back system to recover 2 or more pool covers onto one roller as long as the total cover length does not exceed 50m.
Piggy Back is the connection method to join one cover to the next to recover multiple covers onto a single roller. There are 3 piggy back joining styles:
Thermal resistance is how much a cover will retain heat in the pool. Similar to insulation in roofs, the thermal resistance is measured as the R value. Daisy Solar Pool Covers have an R value of 0.10m2/Kw while Daisy Thermal Foam covers have an R value of 0.13m2/Kw, meaning the thermal foam is technically better with a slightly higher R value.
Daisy Commercial Solar pool covers are made with the UltraDome™ bubble profile (best bubble shape available for longevity) are translucent polyethelyne material, allowing maximum transmission of warming solar radiation into the pool water while also efficiently insulating against heat escape. In an outdoor pool, the UltraDome™ cover will insulate the water overnight and can assist in the heating of the pool if they are on the water during daylight hours.
Thermal Foam covers are made from a crosslinked closed cell polyolefin foam. This foam consists of 3 layers; with the foam flame bonded each side to a UV (Ultra Violet) stabilized woven PE (Polyethylene) Canvacon material. Thermal Foam covers are primarily used for indoor pools and for maximum heat retention.
Yes, if the Daisy pool cover is on the pool during daylight hours, if the Daisy solar pool cover can see the sun it will heat the pool for free.
Wind Skirting is a mesh material that encapsulates a weighted core rope. The weighted roped pulls approximately 15mm of the edge of the pool cover under water to stop winds picking it up. Wind skirting is generally sewn onto the length ways edges of the pool covers to stop cover being affected by the wind.
Yes, with optional outriggers attached to the roller to guide the pool cover over the starting blocks you can use the rollers at the starting block end. It should be noted that is easier to use covers and rollers at a non-starting block ends.
Yes, power options are available for Daisy Commercial Rollers.
Both Commercial Daisy Thermal Foam and Daisy Solar Covers will stop condensation when in place covering the complete water surface of an indoor pool.
Advice will differ on pool length and overall width, generally for ease of use and manoeuvrability once recovered, optimum cover width should be around 5m for 25m & 50m pools. Covers can be made to any width, the reason for limiting the width of the covers is the roller size (maximum cover size 6.7m for 7.0m Daisy Roller) along with the weight that will affect the manoeuvrability and usability. Daisy does not advocate wider cover and roller systems, they are simply too hard to use and may be an OH&S issue.
Colours available for Daisy Thermal Foam covers are Blue, Silver or Green.
If you can afford the cost, a Daisy Roller System makes using you pool cover a great deal more convenient. It will allow and encourage you to use the cover properly, easily and conveniently and gain the most from the benefits available. A Roller System also provides easy storage, and there is no need to move the cover into the shade as every Roller System includes a protective over-cover at no additional cost. This protects your cover while it is on the roller.
Wipe or wash rollers regularly to keep clean.
Check Monthly: All bolts are tight and roller is operating correctly. Make sure there are no unusual sounds when using or moving the roller.
Yes, Daisy has wall mounting roller option, it should be noted that Daisy cannot be responsible for the wall structure that rollers are mount onto.
It is best to have mobile rollers as close to the pool edge as possible so the covers when deploying (or recovering) leave the water surface and go onto the roller without obstruction.
Yes, no different going sideways or lengthways. There will be more rollers sideways however they will generally be easier to use.
Advice will differ on pool length and overall width, typically it is better to have more shorter rollers than less larger rollers. The larger rollers are heavier and harder to roll up, to deploy and to manoeuvre the roller once cover is recovered. Generally optimum cover width should be around 5m for 25m & 50m pools.
The maximum standard commercial roller is 7.0m
Standard 100mm stainless castors are great for modern smooth surfaces. If the pool area, concourse or pathway for storage has uneven surfaces we recommend upgrading to 125mm castors with high density impact absorbing wheels as an option. Stabilizer bars can be purchased to lock the frames in place for particularly harsh environments.
If possible always use rollers at non starting block end. It is always easier to recover and deploy covers when there are no obstacles.
